Indosoft Announces End of Life for Asterisk 1.4 Support in Q-Suite 5 Call Center Software

Indosoft, developer of Q-Suite, announce they will no longer be developing for Asterisk 1.4. This allows the leading contact center ACD system built for Asterisk to embrace features in newer versions.

Indosoft, developer of the Q-Suite call center software suite, announces the end of Asterisk 1.4 support in development of their 5.x line. The industry leading contact center ACD system built for Asterisk has been deployed around the world for more than a decade. By announcing an end of life for Asterisk 1.4 as a telephony platform, Q-Suite can fully embrace newer Asterisk features and improve performance. 

Q-Suite has been providing quality call center software on Asterisk for more than a decade. The use of Asterisk, a free, open source software switch, allows the deployment of call center software on a low-cost platform. The open model of Asterisk allows for rapid development, testing and deployment of new features on a PBX system that runs on commodity hardware. 

When Q-Suite 5.0 first introduced, Asterisk 1.4 was the current Long Term Support (LTS) version, and Asterisk 1.8 was as yet unreleased. Q-Suite 5.x has remained popular, so many Q-Suite installs with Asterisk 1.4 remain. However, nowadays there are too many features in current versions of Asterisk to continue tying Q-Suite to such an old version. By using only later versions of Asterisk, Q-suite can continue to innovate for their customers.
